This series of works features large archival photo transparencies of urban vistas. These images are encased in clear acrylic panels, enhanced with fluorescent or LED lighting, and mounted with stainless steel hardware. The monumental columns of the expressway stand in stark contrast to the surrounding weeds and discarded debris, evoking the tension between industrial infrastructure and the neglected urban landscape. The acrylic panels themselves take on an ethereal quality, reminiscent of the lacy, drippy forms of graffiti often seen on bus shelter panels or windows, adding an element of fragility and transience to the piece.
